How it works

1. Answer a few questions. Who the plan is for, your household, and what’s already in place. Your readiness score appears right away.
2. Take one step at a time. Keepwell always shows the next most useful thing to do, and about how long it takes. Stop whenever you like.
3. Give your people a map. Print or save a packet for each person you name, with their roadmap for the first days, weeks and months.
4. Keep it current. When life changes, Keepwell shows what to review. A reminder every six months keeps it fresh.

Private by design

Your plan is saved in your own browser, on your own device. There’s no copy on a server. Backups are encrypted with 256-bit AES and a passphrase only you know. Only your member number, when it’s checked, and a request you choose to send to CASL ever go online.

Questions

Is Keepwell really free?

Yes. Keepwell is free and exclusive to CASL members, for everyone in their household, and CASL membership is free too. There are no ads.

Why do I need a CASL member number?

Keepwell is a benefit of CASL membership. You log in with your member number, which CASL checks, and nothing from your plan is sent with it. Not a member yet? Joining CASL is free and takes about a minute.

Is this a will?

No. Keepwell gets you ready: it organizes everything around your will and powers of attorney, and prepares the instructions a lawyer needs. You still sign those documents with a lawyer or a reputable online will service.

Where is my information kept?

On your own device, in your browser. There’s no account and no copy on a server. You can save an encrypted backup, locked with a passphrase only you know.

What if I lose my phone?

Save a backup and keep it somewhere safe, like your email. Open it on any phone or computer with your passphrase and your plan is back.

Can I make a plan for my mother or father?

Yes. Choose “A parent I’m helping” at the start. You can keep your own plan and theirs side by side on one device.

How does my family see it?

You make a packet for each person you name, with what they need and a roadmap for their role. Print it or save it as a PDF, then hand it over or keep it with your originals.

Does it work in my province?

Keepwell covers every province and territory except Quebec, which has its own rules. The detail is richest for Ontario.

What does CASL Approved mean?

Keepwell is approved by CASL, the Chamber for the Advancement of Senior Living, a free network for seniors and families in Toronto and the GTA. When you ask for help in Keepwell, your request goes to CASL. Your plan itself never does.

Is it legal or financial advice?

No. It’s general information in plain language. When your situation calls for a lawyer, an accountant or a planner, Keepwell tells you so.
