Plant-based meals, hot and frozen, in downtown Oshawa

Mathilda's is a plant-based restaurant in downtown Oshawa. It opened in August 2018 and moved to a bigger space across the street the next year. The menu takes dishes from around the world, and there are options for people with allergies and food sensitivities, including gluten free, oil free and soy free.

You can come in to eat or take food home: hot meals, refrigerated and frozen meals, and retail items. They do dine-in and takeout, with no delivery, Tuesday to Saturday from noon to 6pm.

Their cafe, Mindful Meal Cafe, powered by Mathilda's, is inside the Whitby Health Centre at 198 Des Newman Blvd, open Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 5:30, with free 15 minute parking. The owner studied gerontology and worked as a personal support worker in the community and in nursing homes before she opened the restaurant.
