Your privacy

Your information belongs to you. Here's how we look after it.

This page explains, in plain language, what CASL collects, why, and the choices you always have. No fine print, no legal maze. Effective date: July 10, 2026.

The short version

Four promises we keep to every member.

  • We never sell your information. Not to anyone, not for any price.
  • We only send what you agreed to. You choose, with clear checkboxes — never pre-ticked.
  • Your details are stored securely in our own database, and we collect only what we need.
  • One email is all it takes to see, correct, or delete your information: info@thecasl.ca.
What we collect

Only what we need to help you.

When you fill in our join, contact, or booking forms, we ask for:

  • Your name — so we know how to greet you.
  • Your email address — where we send your welcome email and membership code.
  • Your phone number — optional, only if you'd rather we call.
  • Your interests — the services you'd like to hear about, in your own words.
  • Who referred you — the partner or person who told you about CASL, if any.

That's it. Your information is stored securely in our database. We never ask for a credit card or banking details — membership is free, so there's simply nothing to charge.

Why we collect it

We use your information for five things — and nothing else.

  1. To run your free membership. We send your welcome email with your personal membership code, and keep your record so partners can honour your member discounts.
  2. To send member communications you said yes to. The newsletter, event invitations, and educational content — only if you ticked that box.
  3. To enter you in member giveaways. Active members are eligible for our quarterly giveaways, and we need to know how to reach you if you win.
  4. To connect you with vetted partners when you ask. If you request an introduction or book a consultation, we pass along only what's needed to help you.
  5. To respond to your inquiries. When you write to us, we use your contact details to write back.
Your consent

Two separate checkboxes. You decide.

Our join form has two consent checkboxes, and both start unticked — you have to actively choose them:

  • CASL member emails — our newsletter, events, educational content, and the quarterly member giveaway.
  • Referring-partner offers — member offers from the one organization that referred you, and no one else.

We only send what you agreed to. If you tick neither box, you can still be a member — you'll simply receive your membership confirmation and nothing more.

Changed your mind? Reply "unsubscribe" to any email from us, or write to info@thecasl.ca. We act on every request promptly.

Who we share it with

Almost no one.

We never sell your information. Full stop.

If you consented to referring-partner offers, those offers come only through the single partner who referred you — never their competitors, and never every business in the network. Within your referring partner's category, you won't receive advertising from anyone else.

Beyond that, we don't share your information with anyone, except in the rare case that the law requires it.

Your rights

See it. Correct it. Delete it. Anytime.

Your information stays yours. At any time, you can ask us:

  • What do you have about me? We'll show you everything on file.
  • Can you fix this? We'll correct anything that's wrong or out of date.
  • Please delete my information. We'll remove it and confirm when it's done.

Just email info@thecasl.ca — a real person reads it, and we reply within one business day.

Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation

We follow Canada's anti-spam law — to the letter.

Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation sets strict rules for commercial email, and we're glad it does. Every commercial email we send:

  • is sent only because you gave us your express consent;
  • clearly identifies CASL as the sender, with our contact information;
  • includes a working unsubscribe mechanism — and we honour every unsubscribe promptly.

We also keep a record of every consent you give us — what you agreed to, when, and on which page — so there's never any doubt about what you've chosen.

Questions about this policy?

We're happy to explain anything on this page — plainly, and without the jargon. Email info@thecasl.ca and we'll reply within one business day.

This policy is effective as of July 10, 2026. If we ever change it, we'll update this page and the effective date.
