Sensible Choice handles direct cremation simply and at a published flat price, $1,480 at the time of writing, with no hidden fees and a promise to beat a comparable quote by five percent. Arrangements can be made online or over the phone rather than in an office, and a funeral director is reachable at any hour. That matters more than it sounds: deaths rarely happen at a convenient time, and the family is often scattered across the country when it does.
Sagen Pearse is a Class 1 funeral director licensed through the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, working from Gormley across the whole GTA and out to Hamilton, Durham and Simcoe. His own account of the work is straightforward. He deals with people at the worst moment of their lives, whether that is the loss of a spouse, a child, a sibling or a friend, and what he offers is patience and plain answers rather than a sales process.
Pre-planning is available for anyone who would rather settle these decisions themselves than leave them to their children, which is the reason most of our members ask about it. Afterwards the service includes tribute videos, flower delivery, and a year of weekly grief support messages, because the hard part for a lot of people begins several months later once everyone else has moved on.
