Questions about the finder

Is the Benefits Finder free?
Yes. It’s free for everyone, with no member number and no email. Your list appears on the page as soon as you answer.
Does it tell me whether I qualify?
No. It points to programs worth checking, based on rough answers. Each program has its own rules, and the government’s page is the final word. Our full checklist explains who qualifies for each one.
Which programs does it cover?
The federal, Ontario and City of Toronto programs on our checklist of government benefits for seniors, from Old Age Security and the Guaranteed Income Supplement to the Ontario Drug Benefit, dental programs and Toronto’s property tax relief.
Why doesn’t it show amounts?
Amounts and income limits change during the year. Rather than show a number that may be out of date, the finder links to the government’s own page for each program.
Are my answers sent to CASL?
No. Your answers are worked out on your device and kept only there, so you can come back to them. CASL never sees them.
Can I do it for a parent?
Yes. Answer for them, then print the list and go through it together.
Is CASL a government agency?
No. CASL is a free network for seniors and their families in Toronto and the GTA. This finder is general information, not financial advice.
